Cardinal à poitrine rose - Pheucticus ludovicianus
Rose-breasted Grosbeak

Cardinal à poitrine rose - Pheucticus ludovicianus

The species is a reasonably common breeding bird throughout much of temperate eastern North America, as far west and northeastern British Columbia and as far east as Nova Scotia. It normally winters from the West Indies and southern Mexico south into South America. The upper bird is the male, the lower the female. Even with their bright colour pattern, the males help with nesting duties, and will feed the babies.
