Labrador Duck - Camptorhynchus labradorius

Comment : No one alive has ever seen such a scene. The last absolutely certain record of this species occurred in 1875, although it probably lasted a few years past that date. It was a small sea duck, the male in breeding plumage boldly patterned in black and white, the female a more drab greyish-brown.
