Wood Thrush - Hylocichla mustelina

Grive des bois

Wood Thrush
The species nests throughout woods and forest of most of eastern North America, north well into the transitional boreal forest, spending the winter in more tropical climes. Of all the birds native to Ontario I believe the Wood Thrush has the most beautiful song, very ethereal, and haunting, when heard against a background of wilderness silence.
