Red-chested Cuckoo female adult, close-up portrait, pigmentation, feeding habits
Walter Sisulu Botanical Garden in Roodepoort.

Also named in Afrikaans 'Piet-my-Vrou', as its call. It lives in wooded areas. Generally seen singly, often more heard than seen. It feeds on insects, caterpillars and seeds. This species parasitizes nests of robins and small thrushes.
