Cacatoès noir - Probosciger aterrimus
Palm Cockatoo
The heaviest cockatoo, and very distinctive in appearance. It lays only a single egg in the clutch, and in general is not easy to breed in captivity, although it regularly breeds in the breeding centre of the LPF. One of the first chicks to hatch each year in the breeding centre is likely to be a Palm Cockatoo.
C'est le plus lourd des cacatoès, et très différent en apparence. Il pond un seul oeuf par couvée, et n'est pas facile à faire reproduire en captivité, bien qu'il se reproduise régulièrement au centre de reproduction de la LPF. Il y a de fortes chances pour que l'un des premiers poussins qui naît chaque année au centre soit un Cacatoès noir.
