Comment : One of the best known and widely kept parrots in aviculture and as a pet. Its popularity relates especially to its versatility as a mimic and its intelligence, shown to the world by Alex, a famous Grey Parrot who died in 2007. Trade in this species has affected wild populations, and the LPF supports a project in Cameroon to examine the possibilities for sustainable trade.
Il est l'un des mieux connus et largement gardé en tant qu'animal domestique en aviculture. Sa popularité est en relation avec sa versatilité et son intelligence, présenté au monde par Alex, le fameux Perroquet Jaco qui est mort en 2007. Le commerce de cette espèce a affecté les populations sauvages, et la LPF soutient un projet au Cameroun pour examiner les possibilités d'un commerce soutenable.
