Bearded Bellbird - Procnias averano
Araponga barbu

Comment : This amazing bird has one of the loudest calls of any species. The males spend much of the day calling to attract females by producing loud 'BOK' calls or a series of bell-like noises much like a hammer striking an anvil. This species is primarily a frugivore which favours primary rain forest -in this habitat food is so plentiful that the males spend only a few hours foraging & the remainder of the time calling. Females rear the young alone.
