Oilbird - Steatornis caripensis
Guacharo des cavernes
The generic name of these weird birds is derived from the Amerindian custom of harvesting young Oilbirds (which are 30-50% fatter than the adults) rendering them by boiling to extract the body fat for use in cooking in oil-lamps.
