Répétant un comportement relativement fréquent chez les oiseaux, cet Euplecte venait plusieurs fois par jour longuement inspecter son reflet dans une vitre, gonflant et exhibant son croupion jaune comme lors d'un comportement de parade, avant de se battre avec cette image qu'il prenait pour un autre mâle envahissant son domaine.
