Sokoke Scops Owl adult breeding
A roosting pair of the rufous morph. This is Africa's smallest one of its rarest owls being restricted to the Cynometra woodland of Kenya's Arabuko-Sokoke forest Tanzania's Eastern Usambara mountain forest remnants. These owls nest in cavities in mature Brachylaena trees which are one of the first trees to be targeted by illegal logging.
