African Darter - Anhinga rufa
Anhinga d'Afrique
It lives in both saline and fresh water. It feeds on fish, frogs, crabs and aquatic insects, by diving and pursuing prey under water. It needs to dry its feathers, and spends most of time with wings hanging out to dry. On this picture, Darter is moulting.
Il vit aussi bien en eau salée que douce. Il se nourrit de poisson, grenouilles, écrevisses et insectes aquatiques, plongeant et poursuivant ses proies sous l'eau. Il doit sécher ses plumes, et passe pour cela la plupart du temps avec les ailes grand-ouvertes. Sur cette photo, l'anhinga est en train de muer.
